Other New Items in the Works

A DVD and CD of the 40th Anniversary Concert at The Proms this summer in London will be released by Signum "in December." We will do all we can to get copies of this in time for the December U.S. tour. We will post it on our website as a pre-issue/pre-order item as soon as we have details and have permission to mention it.

The UK Salvation Army has a Volume 2 of "Quiet Heart" in the works that also is scheduled "for December."

An album, being recorded as you read this, will be out by mid-2009. It is a light classical album from composers of the Romantic Period.

Hal Leonard is in the final production phase for a songbook to go with the "Simple Gifts" album.

Philip Lawson's words on "Born On A New Day" are on a cut on the latest Cambridge Singers disc, "A Christmas Festival" which we will have in stock soon.

Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir

We have just received notice that the release date for the CD and DVD of "Making Spirits Bright" recorded by The King's Singers last December at the Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Show will be September 30, 2008. Janet and I had the opportunity to attend this live performance with 21,000 other people in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, UT. The program was given four times to a full house every time--that's right, 84,000 people saw this live! Where as the tickets were free, there was a lottery drawing with winners entitled to 4 tickets. If everyone who applied would have gotten tickets there would have been 1.2 MILLION people in attendance so we expect the demand for these items to be very high! The contents of the CD and DVD are the same and include The King's Singers with The Orchestra at Temple Square, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and a collection of dancers, costuming, and exceptional lighting effects. The King's Singers are not on every cut but they get way more "air time" than past guests at this annual show. Of special note is Paul Phoenix' feature on "O Holy Night." Those of you who enjoy his voice will hear it in unbridled glory on this piece. This show will be broadcast on PBS-TV this December, usually on Christmas Eve, so check your local listings. These items will be offered in our First Issue Program so those of you registered for these modest discounts will be getting an email from Kris at our California Office very soon. Others may wish to sign up for the First Issue Program by going to our website because the modest discount will apply to members who may wish to buy multiple copies for Holiday Gifts. :>)

EMI 5-CD Collection now in stock

As another 40th Anniversary product, EMI has just released a 5-CD box containing "Believe In Music," "Annie Laurie," "Beatles Connection," "Madrigal History Tour," and "A Tribute to the Comedian Harmonists." This is an excellent selection of some of their best-sellers showing a variety of styles: Annie and Beatles are among our top 5; Believe and Tribute are no longer printed by EMI but remain highly requested; the Madrigal album is a Who's Who of madrigals from 5 countries. An excellent value at $33.95, and would make an excellent gift, a great starter set, or a good way to add to a school choral department library. (Note: Believe and Tribute are still available at DJ RECORDS as singles)
